Great show!

On Saturday, I had the honor of performing at An Evening On Ice.  The show consisted of a great cast, both as skaters and as people.

The day started at 8:00 AM, where the opening and closing numbers were choreographed by Braden Overett.  After that came lunch and a brief warm up.  The first show, the afternoon show, started at 2:00.  Then there was a break until the evening show at 7:30 PM.  Then at 10:30, there was a Meet and Greet where the audience got to meet the skaters.  Once the audience was gone, I got to stay and get to know the other skaters better.

Overall, it was a great show with great people.  The audience was great, and it was great to support a charitable cause like the US Athletic Foundation.  I will post some pictures from the show here.

Eva Longoria’s restaurant BESO.  We were taken to dinner the night before the show in a stretch hummer to this fabulous hollywood restaurant.  Sorry for the poor picture, the lighting was dim.

Thank you to all the great people at An Evening On Ice for making this very special, and inviting me to be a part of such a great event.

Getting Ready for the New Season

The 2012-2013 competition season is right around the corner, and I’m happy and excited for it all to begin! I’ve been working hard during this off season, and I’ve learned from my previous mistakes. This should be my best year ever!

Last month I had my first competition of the season, the All Year Figure Skating Club (AYFSC) Competition. I’m happy to say that I skated two clean programs.

With the exception of a few adjustments, I’m keeping my short program from last year, and Lori Nichol did the choreography on my new long program.

This Saturday, I am performing at “An Evening on Ice” at The Toyota Center in Los Angeles. I am very exited to perform the new show program I just got, and can’t wait to skate with the great cast. I hope to see you guys there!

A Personal Message From Leah

Thank you so much for visiting my website! I plan on having this site regularly updated about my skating, so please subscribe (in the box to the right of this column) so that you can get contacted whenever I have news.

I am so excited about the upcoming season! I will be skating at the Junior level, so that means I will have to get used to doing longer programs now. My programs are almost ready to go, and I can’t wait to show them at competitions this summer. A big thank you to my choreographer, Cindy Stuart, who has done really great work again this year for me.

Working with Frank Carroll is wonderful, and it is an honor to work with such an amazing coach, especially since he coached my skating idol, Michelle Kwan. It means a long drive up into the mountains several times a week, but it is worth it. He has a really good eye for details, and has helped my skating a lot.

School is winding down for the year, and that means I can spend more time with my family and dogs. I can’t wait for the summer, since I will be having a lot of family fun, not to mention seeing all my friends at the summer competitions!

Thanks again for coming by, and contact me through this site if you have any questions for me. Bye!
